Lord, I have been carrying relationships that are not mine to carry alone.
Some of them I broke, and I am sorry. Some of them were broken by other people, and I have been quietly paying for it ever since. Help me to see clearly which is which, because I have been getting them confused.
Show me the part that is genuinely mine. If there is an apology I owe, give me the courage to make it without excuses. If there is a hand I should extend, give me the humility to extend it first. I do not want to be right more than I want to be at peace.
And where I have already done what I can, Father, give me the grace to stop. Take from me the compulsion to fix what only You and time can reach. Guard my heart from the bitterness that grows while waiting. Let me be a peacemaker where I can, and a peaceful person where I cannot. Amen.
