Lord, I want to be honest about what I have been asking for. Most of it has been for more. More margin. More certainty. More of the things I have decided would finally settle me. And I have been calling that need, when a good deal of it is want.
Teach me the thing Paul said he had to learn. Not to pretend I have no desires, but to stop letting them run the room. Let me find out in practice that You are enough in a season when nothing else is adding up.
And where contentment has to be learned through lack rather than plenty, give me the grace to learn it there. I would rather have You in a hard year than my own way in an easy one. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
