Contentment in Every Season — Daily Encouragement

There is a question you can ask today that usually reveals more than you expect. Where am I waiting for a change in circumstances before I will be all right?

Most of us have a version of this. When the money settles. When the diagnosis is clear. When this season ends. We do not say it out loud, because it sounds like what it is: a life on hold.

Paul wrote about contentment from a cell, which means he was not describing a life that had finally gone well. He was describing a decision that had to be made repeatedly, in conditions he did not choose. So find your version of that sentence today. Name it honestly. Then do one ordinary good thing anyway, without waiting for permission from your circumstances, and see whether the day holds more than you thought.
