Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving — Prayer of the Day

Father, I have been treating gratitude as something that happens to me rather than something I bring.

So this morning I am bringing it deliberately. Not because the day deserves it, but because You do. You were faithful yesterday when I was not paying attention, and You will be faithful today whether I notice or not.

I am thankful for the things I would have taken for granted by lunchtime. A roof. A body that still works. Someone who would answer if I called. The fact that You are not distant from any of it.

And I am thankful for the harder things in the only way I can honestly be thankful: that You are in them, and that they do not get the last word. Let gratitude be the gate I walk through today. Amen.
