Lord Jesus, I have quietly been chasing the wrong kind of greatness. I have wanted to be needed, to be respected, to be the one people come to. I have dressed it up as usefulness, and some of it probably was. But underneath there has been a stranger asking to be important.
You had every right to be served, and You chose the opposite. Give me that instinct, not just the doctrine of it. Show me the tasks I have been avoiding because they are beneath me, and give me the willingness to do them well and tell nobody.
And guard me from serving in order to be seen serving. Let me give up the receipt, and be genuinely glad when someone else gets the credit and the room never learns what I did. In Your name, Amen.
