A Prayer for Contentment
Lord, I confess how easily I look to my circumstances for my sense of peace. When things go well, I feel secure. When they do not, I feel unsettled. Teach me the secret of contentment that Paul discovered — a peace that is not dependent on what is happening around me, but on who is living within me.
Help me to trust that You are enough. Not when I have enough, but always. Whether I am abounding or in need, whether the path is smooth or rough, You are the same. And You are good.
Today I choose to find my sufficiency not in my circumstances, but in Christ who strengthens me.
