You are not just barely making it through. Through Christ, you are more than a conqueror. And nothing — absolutely nothing — can change that.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. These are some of the most confident words in all of Scripture. Paul doesn’t say “I hope so.” He doesn’t say “I think maybe.” He says “I am persuaded.” Absolute certainty. Rock-solid conviction.
But look at what this confidence is based on. It’s not based on Paul’s own strength. He’s not saying “I am strong enough to overcome anything.” He’s saying, “Through Christ who loved us, we are more than conquerors.”
The phrase “more than conquerors” is rich with meaning. The original Greek word, *hypernikōmen*, suggests an overwhelming, resounding victory — not just winning, but winning decisively. It’s not the difference between losing and barely squeaking by. It’s the difference between losing and utterly triumphing.
Think about a battle. A conqueror wins the war. But someone who is “more than a conqueror” doesn’t just win — they come out stronger on the other side. The battle that was meant to destroy them actually made them stronger.
That’s what God does with your struggles.
Everything the enemy intended for your harm, God uses for your good. Every trial you face in Christ becomes a platform for His power. The thing that was supposed to break you becomes the thing that builds you. You don’t just survive — you thrive.
And then Paul gives us the list. He runs through every possible force in the universe — death, life, angels, demons, present circumstances, future fears, powers, heights, depths — and declares that none of them can separate us from God’s love.
Not death. Not life itself. Not spiritual forces. Not what’s happening right now. Not what might happen tomorrow. Not the highest success nor the lowest failure. Nothing in all creation.
Let that sink in.
Whatever you’re facing today — whatever has tried to convince you that God has abandoned you, that you’re too far gone, that His love has limits — Paul says no. You are held. You are loved. You are secure.
This is how the week ends. Not with a sigh of relief, but with a shout of victory. Not just making it through, but more than conquering. Because the One who holds you is the One who conquered sin, death, and the grave. And if He is for you, who can be against you?
You are not a victim of your circumstances. You are a victor in Christ. Live like it.
