Behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. — Matthew 27:51 (WEB)
Imagine standing in Jerusalem that afternoon. The sky had gone dark at noon. The ground trembled beneath your feet. And then — word spread from the temple: the veil has torn.
This was no ordinary curtain. According to Jewish tradition, the veil of the temple was a massive woven tapestry — about sixty feet high, four inches thick, so heavy it took three hundred priests to handle. It separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies, where the presence of God dwelt. Only the High Priest could enter, and only once a year, on the Day of Atonement, with blood and trembling.
That veil was the physical symbol of separation between God and humanity. It said, in effect, “You cannot come in here.” It was a constant reminder that sin creates distance, that the holy God and sinful people do not casually mix.
And at the exact moment Jesus died — “from the top to the bottom” — the veil tore.
Not from the bottom up, as a person might tear it. From the top down, as only God could. God Himself tore open the barrier. He didn’t wait for humanity to find a way in. He opened the way Himself.
This changes everything about how we approach God. The torn veil means direct access. There is no longer a need for a human mediator, a priestly caste, a sacrificial system. Jesus is the way, and the way is open. You don’t have to go through anyone else to reach the heart of the Father.
Day 92 invited you to draw near. Day 93 invited you to come with a sincere heart. Today, the message is simpler and more staggering: you can. The barrier has been removed. The way is not just available — it’s wide open.
If you’ve ever felt that God is distant, that your access is limited, that there’s a curtain you can’t get past — look again. That curtain is gone. Jesus tore it. The presence of God is not behind a veil anymore. It’s right here, open to anyone who comes through Christ.
The earth quaked at what happened. Let your heart tremble too — not in fear, but in wonder.
