Opening Reflection
We often come to God with small requests because we have small expectations. Not because God is small — but because our hearts have grown accustomed to the familiar, the manageable, the safe. Today, we’re invited to open our hearts wider and prepare for more than we can imagine.

*”Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”* — Ephesians 3:20-21 (WEB)
If you had to pick one passage that captures the heart of this second journey, this might be it. Paul’s doxology bursts out of him in a cascade of superlatives: *exceedingly, abundantly, above all.* The Greek is almost comically excessive — *huperekperissou* — something like “super-abundantly beyond measure.”
Paul was not a cautious pray-er.
After spending three chapters unpacking the staggering reality of God’s grace — that Gentiles and Jews together are heirs of the same promise, that God’s wisdom is displayed through the church, that Christ’s love surpasses knowledge — Paul simply erupts. He can’t contain it anymore. God is not just able. He is *able to do immeasurably more.*
But here’s the part we often skip: *”according to the power that works in us.”*
God’s immeasurably more doesn’t come from outside us. It comes through us. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is already at work within everyone who believes. The problem is not God’s willingness. It’s our capacity to receive.
Yesterday we acknowledged our thirst. Today we open our hearts wider.
Think of your heart like a container. Right now, it’s a certain size — shaped by your experiences, your disappointments, your understanding of what’s possible. But God wants to expand it. He wants you to dream bigger, trust deeper, expect more — not because you’re ambitious, but because He is generous.
This connects directly to our first journey. In “Transformed by Grace,” we learned that God’s power is at work in us, conforming us to Christ’s image. Now we’re taking that truth and running with it. If God can transform a life from the inside out, what else can He do?
His power is not limited by our imagination. He can do more than we ask. More than we think. More than we can conceive. And He wants to do it *for* you, *in* you, and *through* you.
The only question is: are you willing to open your heart wide enough to receive it?
